"Dr. Seuss's One fish two fish red fish blue fish"
was read at story time this week so for their craft that day, they remade the book cover on yellow construction paper. Every kid loved getting their hands painted and having them turned into FISH!
"THE CAT IN THE HAT"
This was another book that was read at story time this week! We also enjoyed the PBS show "The cat in the Hat Knows A lot about That" as well as the Mike Myers movie! I love reading this one to my group because at the end the Cat in the Hat comes back to help Sally and her brother clean up the mess.
"Who was back in the house?
Why, the cat!
"Have no fear of this mess,"
Said the Cat in the Hat.
"I always pick up all my playthings
And so...
I will show you another
Good trick that I know!"
Great lesson to the kids that even though he gets crazy and can create a big mess, he will help clean up!
For this Craft, I had the kids use their hands to make Thing 1 and Thing 2
