This morning the boys and I continued on our theme this week, Dr.Seuss . If you don't know already, it happens to be the birthday of Dr. Seuss this coming Saturday, March 2nd! Although he's not here with us anymore, I love his books, I love his lessons and the love of reading he spread upon the world should continue to be celebrated!!!
I've had a different set of kids between yesterday and today so both days we read the books Dr. Seuss's "ABC" and the fun beginners book "Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb" . I decided today's craft would be based on the book that focused on some useful body parts! With the help from our stuffed monkey that came with the book, we enjoyed story time and moved into our activity!
We use all sorts of fun supplies here and we tend to paint a lot but today I decided instead of painting their hands, I would trace them and they could have fun coloring them in! I traced both hands, one set of fingers and one thumb on each boy. We went with BROWN to match the "millions of monkeys" in the book!
