Mom trying to beat cabin fever

Well we woke up AGAIN this morning to news of our boys having snow days. This would make my youngest son's 6th snow day which if we had decent weather, atleast the kids would be able to run around outside in the snow but we haven't had decent weather. We've been stuck inside and to top it off, today is cloudy and wet!

Our morning involved a random tantrum as I served breakfast and the boys asking me questions just to end up drowning my voice out with their high volume screeches. Oh, how I love repeating and being ignored! NOT! Then of course theres the fact they're boys and they seem to find it impossible to KEEP THEIR HANDS TO THEMSELVES!!

I decided, before I lose it, we needed to beat the cabin fever!!
So we did a fun science experiment after story time which to my delight, worked out! The boys were thrilled to see the reaction of the ingredients mixed together. I can't wait to show it to you on a later post! Stayed tuned! Then as I  was letting our dog Ruby out, I discovered how packy the snow was. Called the boys up, we all got our gear on and spent about an hour outside THANK GOODNESS!!! We each built our own snowmen. Although its gloomy, wet and slippery...it was so nice to get outside with them and finally BUILD A SNOWMAN!!!! I wish we could get a White Christmas where we can build a snowman on Christmas break but it just never turns out like that for us here. The snow is either too fluffy and falls apart easily or theres no white Christmas at all. The boys and I really enjoyed building our snow people and clothing them with hats or scarfs. I don't know how long those snow people will last but fresh air is most definitely the best medicine!
It may be wet and gloomy out but its perfect snowman/ fort snow right now for this small town in Northern Wisconsin!
